Northwest Technology Center, Fairview campus recently held its annual National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) installation. Thirty-one students were inducted into the honor society along with eight returning members. The group is sponsored by Jane Harris, Guidance Counselor and Jessica Schanbacher, Digital Design Instructor. Students must meet strict criteria, including attendance, academic performance and character to be considered for the NTHS.

Longtime Northwest Technology Center Business instructor, Judy Kirtley was inducted as an “Honorary Member” of the National Technical Honor Society. Kirtley was recognized by Dr. Gerald Harris as one of the first employees of NWTC. Kirtley is also responsible for partial funding of a scholarship given annually by the Northwest Tech Foundation to a student in the Business or Digital Design program. Kirtley retired from Northwest Technology Center in 2004.

The returning members conducted the ceremony. A standing room only crowd was present for the ceremony. The returning members included: Todd Bryant, Brandy Nunn and Connor White, Fairview; Lanita Davis and Donetta Sessions, Canton; and Nataly Trejo, Jessica Zweifel and Kacie Wedel, Ringwood.

New inductees to the NTHS included, Fairview High School students, Matt Baker, Lauren Berlingeri, Nick Coppock, Jacob Eischen, Will Gould, Shasta Hess, Brockton Keen, Matthew Kendrick, Tanner Koehn, Braxton McCue, Caleb Neufeld, Breanna Nightengale, Kirsten Pash, Danielle Robinette, Kirsten Schiska, Tyler Shelly, Gabe Siler, Lane Spradlin and Ashley Tucker.

Also inducted were Ringwood High Students, Keaton Beaty, Ben Detrick, J.R. Grace, Benji Koehn, Elizabeth Perez, Eric Rojas and Destinie Weathers. Shycotta Tomlinson of Aline-Cleo High School was also inducted, as well as, Arlen Arambula and Charity Robinson, Canton High School and David Beyer and Linda Byfield, who are adult students.
