Course Highlights

Beginners Golf
Perfect for beginning golfers looking to learn everything you need to know to step onto a golf course and play with confidence. This course will include on-course activities guided by Kanon White and takes place at the lovely Alva Golf and Country Club. Seasoned golfers needing a review of the basics to improve their game are welcome to join this class that will sure to be fun every step of the way. Sign up today as class size is limited!

Distressed Furniture Refinishing
Distressed furniture adds class and old-fashioned style to any room. You don’t have to buy old to get a charming patina. You can transform your old furniture or flea market finds in almost no time with this easy, Do-It Yourself distressed painting technique. Giving wood a distressed finish may sound challenging, but with a few simple tools and some planning, distressing furniture can be done in almost no time. Join us in learning this technique. This class will launch your imagination to new heights of creativity. If you’re all about texture and love furniture then this class is for you. Distressing can be applied to any surface including kitchen cabinets, tables, chairs, moldings, vanities, armoires, and custom built-in cabinetry. Country Western Dancing
Do you enjoy music, like people, and want to increase your circle of friends? Are you looking for an easy form of healthy and fun exercise where you work up a smile instead of a sweat? If so, then Country Western Dancing is for you! Join Guy and Kelly Forell for Country Western Dancing classes Thursdays from 6:30-8pm beginning September 10th. Couples are encouraged.

Beginning Guitar Lessons
Have you always wanted to play guitar and never got around to actually getting started? This class is designed with beginners in mind. Learn how to hold a guitar and pick, the names of parts of the guitar, a scale, and a couple of songs. There are separate classes for elementary chil-dren and a class for teens and adults. Sign up early as classes fill quickly and learn a great new skill beginning on Saturday, September 12.

10 Hour OSHA Training
This OSHA Outreach Training Program provides training for workers and employers on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in workplaces. The program also provides information regarding workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint. Through this program, workers can attend 10-hour class delivered by OSHA-authorized trainers. This course is available on both the Alva and the Fairview campus.

SHRM Certification Review Course for Certified Professionals (CP)/Senior Certified Professionals (SCP)
This class covers the new Body of Competency and Knowledge for Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Certification. The Hu-man Resource Competency Model covers behavioral and leadership competencies including relationship management, ethical practice, busi-ness acumen, critical evaluation, global and cultural effectiveness, leadership and navigation, consultation and communication, and one-tech-nical competency on HR expertise. This class is offered in partnership with Autry Technology center and is video broadcast to our Alva campus on Tuesdays beginning on September 15 from 6-9pm.

There's An Oil For That -- Essential Oils 101
There's An Oil for That -- Essential Oils 101 is the perfect calss if you want to learn how essential oils can enhance and improve your physical, emotional and mental well-being. We will learn the history of oils, the practical application and the many uses of essential oils in your home. This class will encourage and inspire you tand your family to live a healthier life with essential oils. Relieving stress, lowering blood pressure, improving digestion, fighting colds and sickness. You will be amazed there is an oil for that! Enroll today and discover the benefits of using essential oils to create physical and emotional health.

PADI – Open Water Scuba Certification Class
If you want to see the world beneath the waves, Get your scuba diving certification with this Professional Association of Diving Instruc-tors (PADI) Open Water Diver course – the world’s most recognized and popular scuba diving course. Discover a whole new aquatic world through this course. To enroll in a PADI Open Water Diver course, you must be 10 years old or older. You need adequate swim-ming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with scuba diving is required. Participants must provide their own wetsuit and be willing to travel to Lake Tenkiller for a day and half unless a closer location is found.
